20/52 #1page1week #1p1w
This crazy week is finally coming to an end, hurray. My dog is already doing much better, and so do I! In addition, I can let myself slow down now that I have finished all pictures that I'm supposed to have for the current deadline. Yesss.
Have Alejo enduring a collapse.
Vent art? Hm, maybe, partly. Because after all the stress that I've experienced recently I urgently needed to draw something sad and, preferably, for myself. This coincided with the fact that I wouldn't manage to do new commishes within the challenge this week: one commish that I'm starting tomorrow is an ink sketch that doesn't fit the idea of the challenge, as it's too easy, and the other commish is still at the discussion stage, so I wouldn't manage to finish it in two days, absolutely. So it was logical to not sit on my hands, puzzled, but to use this chance to draw what my soul demanded insistently. And it demanded an illustration with Alejo (as I suddenly got addicted to him, omg).
Enjoy~

I would definitely say that as this picture uses the gray shades quite effectively that the feeling of depression is evoked quite well. I suppose that life can definitely throw situations at you, where you feel either sad or mad about the circumstances. Frankly, utilizing a real imagery with rain and Alejo on his knees, it evokes the sense of his situation much better than anything abstract would, like some examples of vent art might do. It also does fit into his character, considering his life has been just really, really unfair to him and his sister.
