11/52 #1page1week #1p1w, submitting a few hours later than usual, but I'm game still! :D It just happened that the idea for this picture took me more time than planned. The background would have come out easier if I was in normal relationship with watercolors. But since I barely can use anything besides coloured pencils, the process became longer. I don't regret though: maybe I didn't manage to do the background as complicated as I wanted originally, I still depicted the idea quite how I wanted. Plus the pattern that coloured pencils do on rough paper nicely gives the picture some additional volume and glow.

So this is the last commish of the first commission pack, drawn for AudeS and showing his OC Vadden from the project "Heavy Metal Universe", named after the inspiration song of the same title belonging to the Gamma Ray band (nice song, btw!). The character himself is great, in addition I didn't have any problems with him at all! Most of my energy was spent on the background, else came out surprisingly easily and quickly~

In this picture I made an attempt to avoid doing completely black lines and used brown on the character's skin instead. In fact, this isn't the first time that I use brown ink, just usually I came to it only for outlining some details (like burns, or streaks in rodent ears). I totally love how this came out, definitely need to practice using inks of different colours for linework more often~
